Segou - Festival on the Niger
The town is packed and heaving. Malian music, crowds, bright colours, hustlers everywhere, centred on the centre down by the river. A great atmosphere day and night - a whole lot of fun lunacy. We take a old wooden pirogue (i think its called) boat out for an hour at sunset which is lovely and the peace and quiet a total contrast to the shore.
A shack of a restaurant provides delicious fish skewers and a live local band whose loud rhythmic beat and dancing is quite breathtaking and has the place surrounded by dozens of people staring in. We explore the streets, stalls and bars until the early hours.
