Homeward Bound

After just a few hours sleep on a floor we sort out our tickets first thing at the Air Maroc office. We now have a “bonus” day in Bamako and spend it at the Mande - a hotel frequented in the past by luminaries including Bobby Charlton and Rob Pearson - eating food and lounging/sleeping [...]

Back to Bamako

Drive to CRES to unload and pack up our stuff for the flight home. The time has come to hand over the Green Machine. I feel rather sad bidding her farewell. Many years of good service and finally a last mad 3 week roadtrip to Mali, and still going strong (with the help of an [...]

Djenne is renowned for its mud architecture and has the largest mud building [...]

Segou - Festival on the Niger

An Oeuf is Enough

A late start on the drive north. Within 20mins its looking like the water leak/over heating which has been getting worse and worse on the Audi has become critical - we barely make the outskirts of Bamako before the reservoir is dry.
Boxy But Good have a little run-in at a police checkpoint - the police [...]
